Orisun Microfinance Bank, originally a community bank in Ago-Iwoye, has built a legacy of trust and grassroots empowerment since 2001. As it expanded into a national institution with a tech-driven vision, Orisun needed a rebrand that honored its heritage while appealing to a modern, digital-savvy audience.

Challenge
The challenge was to balance tradition with innovation while retaining the trust of long-time customers and establishing a fresh identity that could compete in Nigeria’s growing microfinance sector.

Solution
To solve this, I developed the brand identity copy to reflect Orisun’s journey, values, and aspirations. I shaped a narrative that merged its grassroots origins with its forward-thinking ambitions. This involved:

  • Defining its core messaging
  • Refining its tone of voice
  • Ensuring consistency across all brand communications

Impact
My work serves as a foundation for future brand creators for Orisun, providing clear storytelling, strategic positioning, and a voice that resonates with both legacy customers and a younger, digital-first audience.

Through this rebrand, Orisun now stands as a microfinance institution that embodies trust, innovation, and inclusivity while staying true to its past and embracing the future.
